Book Club: Announcement + The Prose Edda

I am starting a new Book Club. It’s all about global literature.

It will allow me to curate the reading list around one of my biggest passions in reading, World Literature. I love exploring different cultures through their literature, and it again fits in with the ethos of this Book Club, epic stories and ‘seeing’ all the world has to offer through books.

Just check back here at the end of each month to discuss the book and find out what we’ll be reading the following month.

The first read of the Book Club will be none other than The Prose Edda by Icelandic historian, poet, and politician Snorri Sturluson (there is debate around whether he wrote the whole thing it or just compiled it and wrote the last section). It is the most comprehensive collection of Norse Mythology that has survived to this day.

Space Bunnies Book Club - April & May - Dune

Me and my sister Charlotte have decided to launch a new book club. It’s called Space Bunnies and will be a Science Fiction and Fantasy orientated Book Club

Our first book club read will be Dune by Frank Herbert. I chose Dune this month because it’s been on my bookshelf for years and all those Dune images for Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation have finally made me grab it off the shelf!!!! Dune was also part of my Quarantine Reading List.

As we are already half way through April and this book is kind of massive we will be reading it until the end of May.

Feel free to join the club on any of these platforms:

Facebook

We look forward to you joining the club!

So all thats left to do is buckle up and get ready to head to Arrakis!

Book Club: July is Good Omens

"‘Let’s start the book club again,’ Cate said for the fourth time with a knowing smile on her face.

Yes I am rebooting the Book Club because I need to force Charlotte (my sister who I used to share this blog with) to read as she only picks up a book once in a blue moon. So it goes without saying, I need to save her from the bookless life she is currently living! So each month we will pick a book to read and you can read along with us, on the first Sunday of each month we will then make a video about the past months book where we discuss what we think of it and you can join in with the discussion too!

Yay, sounds like fun? Stay tuned for the book reveal which has technically already been revealed in the title of this blog post.

This month we are reading…Good Omens!
