I’m rebooting the Saga Book Club but making it more casual (as if it wasn’t the most casual book club ever). I’m so bad at sticking to things and get overwhelmed with commitments, which then makes me hate what I’m doing and abandon it. Basically, I’ll take as long as I need to read each saga so that I don’t end up hating making content again.

Hrafnkel’s Saga. Hrafnkell starts out as a fearsome duelist and a dedicated worshiper of the god Freyr. After suffering defeat, humiliation, and the destruction of his temple, he becomes an atheist. This saga tells the story of his attempts to regain power.

Last month, we read Völsunga Saga, which leads straight into another saga that will be very familiar to anyone who is a fan of the TV show Vikings…yes, The Saga of Ragnar Lodbrok!
